Kelly Garrison's Self-Esteem/Drug Awareness Program is designed to teach today's youth to recognize their talents and focus on their goals while maintaining a healthy and drug-free life-style. Kelly reflects upon her sacrifices, setbacks, and breakthroughs in quest of her Olympic dream and shares her Olympic experience. She also issues a positive challenge to her audience to recognize and celebrate their own unique talent, whatever that talent might be. Kelly's self-esteem message is uniquely intertwined with a positive drug awareness message focusing on self discipline, staying true to one's self and one's goals, and not succumbing to peer pressure. Kelly shares valuable scenarios of how to say no to detractors. With a brief gymnastic demonstration Kelly shows credibility of what she has done by being healthy and focusing on her talent. It is Kelly's goal that this program's audience feels a positive self-image and cares enough about themselves to be drug-free. It is refreshing to have a presentation offer a positive role model that celebrated her successes by making the right choices; a dream she hopes others will aspire to.
